Doña Julia Golf

Based in Casares, between Estepona and Sotogrande.

The Doña Julia Golf Course has fantastic views of the Mediterranean and is notable for the way it blends in with the natural landscape of the area. The designer has certainly made the most of the land that was available to him and produced a course that is enjoyable to play.

The greens have a lovely spacious feel, with an average of 750 m2 and some as large as 1000 m2, they are sown with Agrostis Pen-G2 grass, the same special grass used on the greens at Valderrama.

This challenging course will entertain high handicappers and professionals alike, very new and not without its ups and downs, but very playable nonetheless. A fairly long course, so a buggy is recommended.

There are 2 different layouts. The first 9 holes are longer and a little more difficult, winding between indigenous trees, lakes and rivers, whilst the back 9 are a little more manageable with a gentle incline. Wherever possible, natures landscaping has been left in place, while the courses irrigation system, using a network of 4 lakes, is designed to save water.

The Doña Julia Golf Course opened in 2006 and was designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido.
