San Roque Golf (New and Old Courses)
Based in San Roque, between Sotogrande and Gibraltar.
Formerly the summer residence of the Domecq Sherry family, the San Roque Club sits on a most enviable backdrop surrounded by lush hills and historic Cork Oak woods.
The San Roque Club offers all the facilities you’d expect of the finest and most exclusive meeting place on the Costa del Sol. The two contrasting well maintained golf courses are as challenging as they are beautiful.
Old Course;
At the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, where the mountains meet the sea, is a legendary home for European golf. Designed by Dave Thomas with bunkers redesigned by Seve ballesteros, The Old Course is rated amongst the finest in Europe.
The first 9 holes wind through Cork Oaks whilst the back 9 are dominated by water hazards. Holes to look out for are the dogleg on the 11th, the challenging 17th and the 18th hole which can either make or break your game adding a spectacular finish to some of the most beautiful 18 holes you will ever play.
The Old Golf Course opened in 1991 and was designed by Dave Thomas.

New Course;
The New course depicts a links course in many holes and aims to complement The Old Course, while presenting a very different challenge. The designs, by the renowned American course designer Perry Dye, incorporate the contours of the San Roque hills, giving golfers wonderful views to the Guadalquiton River and the Mediterranean Sea beyond.
The idea was to create a new course that is a challenge for scratch and low handicap golfers but that is also possible for higher handicap players to enjoy. To that end each hole has five different tee positions and fairways that are wider than those on The Old Course. Nevertheless, these fairways are designed to reward canny tactics and skilful drive placement. Water hazards guard four of the greens, also defended by more than a hundred strategic bunkers, which lie in wait for wayward or ambitious drivers.
The plentiful growth of mature cork oaks, San Roque's excellent weather, soil drainage and irrigation plus the expertise of our experienced team of green-keepers means that the club's new course is expected to bed in quickly. It will then provide a thrilling alternative to the rigours of The Old Course.
The New Golf Course opened in 2003 and was designed by Perry Dye and Seve Ballesteros.
