Parador de Malaga Golf

Based in Malaga, just 5 minutes from Malaga airport and a few minutes from Torremolinos.

The Parador de Malaga Golf is one of the oldest golf courses in the Costa del Sol. Due to its age the course has a pleasant natural maturity about it, the flat open fairways are forgiving for the higher handicap players and welcoming to the beginner, whilst the length provides a stern test for low handicap players.

There are also a few huge par 4s on the back nine to cope with which can make the last six holes quite challenging. There is no short Par 3, the shortest is the 150m 13th. The sea breeze can also prevent a challenge or a welcome breeze....

The hardness of the bunker sand maybe a little disappointing for most players, but overall the Parador de Malaga Golf is a pleasant surprise and slightly underrated by the regular golfing tourist which tend to play the more well-known courses of the Costa del Sol. The greens have shown a marked improvement in condition over the past few years. Most of the greens on this walkable course are quite flat and easy to read, apart from the 9th, 12th and 15th.

The 1st 9 holes of the Parador de Malaga Golf Course opened in 1925 and were designed by Harry Sephard Colt. The expansion to 18 holes came about years later and were designed by Tom Simpson.
