Monte Mayor is a beautiful, tranquil course, with breathtaking views, and delivers an enjoyable, challenging round. Strategic play is required, due to the dramatic ravines, gullies and streams. Tee times are every 15 minutes and a buggy is mandatory.
A real gem of a golf course with excellent greens, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, created without ostentation and with a lot of respect for the natural shape of the land.
Signature holes; Hole 3, Par 3, 164 m from the yellow tees (190 m from the white tees). Probably one of the best Par 3’s on the Costa del Sol. Very intimidating, but a good shot slightly on the right of the Pin will take you safely home. Hole 4, Par 5, 419m from yellow tees (425m from the white tees). A drive then a dilemma; do you go for the green - Glory or Misery - or do you lag your second shot on to the intermediate plateau? To get to the green, you pass across a lovely rustic bridge and discover the glorious water-fall cascading over natural marble stone. On Hole 13, the elevated tee offers you a panoramic view over the course and out to sea - Simply astounding!
The Monte Mayor Golf course opened in 1989 and was designed by Jose Gancedo.
