Real Club de Golf de Guadalmina

Based in San Pedro de Alcantara.

Back in 1933 Norberto Goizueta based himself and his family in Guadalmina. Initially the land was put to agricultural use but Norberto and his sons then had an idea. After the completion of the first course (the South course), the local farmers thought them crazy but his perseverance shone through and in 1965 Guadalmina hosted the Spanish championship. Guadalmina also hosted the Spanish PGA Championships in 1998.

In 2008 the King of Spain awarded Guadalmina Golf with the Royal appointment and the club is now known officially as the 'Real Club de Golf de Guadalmina'.Guadalmina Golf has many members and tee times are limited for visitors.

The South Course;

The South Course is the oldest and famous for the stunning 11th hole situated next to the sea. It is renowned for its difficulty, thus making it more suitable for experienced players. The fairways are narrow and well protected by beautiful old trees requiring many more accurate shots. It is longer than the North Course.

The South Course opened in 1959 and was designed by Javier Arana.
