El Bosque Golf

The land on which the course is built is crossed by a steep river bank which gives the course a sloping aspect, that has permitted the construction of a variety of holes. Some land movements have levelled some parts of the course without making it look artificial.

The course has an interesting variety of 18 holes. The objective of Robert Trent Jones Snr was to create a golf course where all types of golfers could play but one that was also difficult for even the most expert golfers to be challenged and to make them enjoy the later holes.

The location of the course at the foot of a mountain is without a doubt the spot in which Robert Trent Jones Snr. was inspired in terms of the design of the course. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, the prestigious designer took advantage of the location in order to add beauty and movement to the 18 freeways of the course.

He also managed to perfectly combine the sloping freeways with water obstacles and 90 sand traps. The bunkers are strategically positioned at the end of the freeway and surrounding the entrance of each green. The greens are extremely fast and demanding and are on ground level.

The course is a technical journey where the choice of the correct club is fundamental if we wish the end result to be a success.

The El Bosque Golf course opened in 1975 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr.
