Montenmedio Golf

Montenmedio golf course is one of the most natural and well-kept courses in Southern Spain.  The lack of development around the course, the lush Cadiz vegetation and the unbeatable climate make this course a natural paradise.

Ringed by majestic trees, Montenmedio is a classic parkland design with the local terrain well-used to create a challenging, interesting and beautiful golfing gem.  Sweeping generous fairways flanked by a variety of flourishing, indigenous trees, this very gently undulating terrain presents memorable golf-course scenery. There are elevation changes and hidden water hazards, that all add to an extremely enjoyable round of golf.

A recommended course in an enviable location. It is surrounded by forest of wild olive, cork oak and pine trees and has impressive views of the Atlantic, the white village of Vejer de la Frontera, and on a clear day, views of the African coast. Playing its 18 holes is always fun and surprising: deer, ducks, partridges and other animals accompany the player along his gentle round. The beautiful club house is designed in neoclassic Andalusian style with Asian influences and subtle furnishings and offers excellent golf services.

By far, the most distinctive feature of the course is the lack of concrete. Apart from an elegant W.C. facility on the 9th hole (which blends perfectly into the environment), there is a breathtaking absence of 'housing'.  The only other man-made interventions are the necessities of golf paraphernalia: greens, flags, etc. Leaving the land in a state as close to natural as possible is inherent to Montenmedio philosophy; both existing and future golf courses will reflect this attitude. Three hundred hectares comprise the finca, or farm – more than sufficient for a few golf courses.

The Montenmedio Golf course opened in 1996 and was designed by Alejandro Maldonado.
