Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course

Based in the Algarve, Portugal

 

The Royal Golf Course with its rolling fairways set amidst pine trees and beautiful lakes surrounded by wild flowers, features an almost Island-like green on the 9th hole and the famous 16th, with cliff-top carryover - one of the most photographed holes in Europe. A parkland Course apart from the 16th hole. The Course is lined with Pine trees, there are a couple of doglegs on the back 9, there are some easily seen water hazards and some steppes climbs on the back 9. A buggy is recommended. 

The Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course opened in 1997 and was designed by Rocky Roquemore based on the original drawings of Sir Henry Cotton.

Facilities; Located at the Parque do Golfe complex in the heart of the Resort is the Clubhouse which offers a full complement of services including the Vale do Lobo Golf reception, a branch of Nevada Bob’s, a fully equipped Fitness Centre with a physiotherapist specialising in golf injuries and Spike’s Restaurant and bar whose terrace overlooks a pretty putting green making it an environment that both golfers and non-golfers can enjoy from breakfast to late night. 

The Vale do Lobo Golf Academy and practice faculties has two distinct areas. A netted area for the instruction of beginner golfers which is also used as a warm up area for golfers. The second area is a short game practice area with bunkers. There is also a putting green and a driving range.
