Formally known as Parque da Floresta Golf, Santo Antonio Golf is the most westerly golf course in the Algarve. It features a challenging layout set amid the rolling hills of the Costa Vicentina nature reserve.
The Santo Antonio Golf Course perfectly integrates into the landscape, running along valleys, past eucalyptus covered ravines flanked by olive, palm and pine trees and offers some stunning views of the ocean and the mountains. A buggy is recommended.
With no two holes remotely similar, the variety and appeal is endless. The 1st hole, a short but testing Par 4 bends gently towards the rising sun and presents a serious challenge for those seeking to reach the green in regulation. The first nine holes end memorably at the fantastic Par 5, 9th, the third shot to the green must be confidently struck over a gently running stream. The highlights are the short Par 3, 5th hole with an elevated tee that makes club selection extremely daunting, the long Par 5, 12th hole which doglegs right towards the two-tier green surrounded with bunkers and the spectacular 13th tee shot that is arguably the most beautiful view on the entire Course. The penultimate hole is the most challenging long Par 4 on the Course with water on the right and trees on the left, whilst the majestic 18th, on an elevated green, is set in a natural amphitheatre beneath the clubhouse terrace where golfers can enjoy spectacular views out to the Atlantic Ocean and the Course.
The Santo Antonio Golf Course opened in 1987 and was designed by Pepe Gancedo.
